Regina crouched in the bushes, her fingers tightening around the grip of her heavy machine gun. Her radio had once again remained silent as she called in the backup Director Black had assured her would be meeting her on the island. Unsurprisingly, there had been no sign of them since she pulled her rubber raft on the sandy stretch of beach that marked the island's southern edge. She had been cut off from her gear by a pack of creatures, darting around her in the underbrush, forced further inland to the dense undergrowth that surrounded the concrete slab the ship had touched down upon.
The ship was unlike any the SORT agent had seen before, glistening in the sunlight as it touched down softly. The occupant was some sort of cybernetic creation, a man-sized robot, heavily armed and clearly built for combat. The result of another one of these damn programs, she thought with a frown.
